That’s so Asheville! That’s what I think when I visit this home. Nestled in the mountains, this 1946 vintage farm cottage is exactly what I think of when someone mentions they are looking for a mini-farm in the mountains. The interior is very charming and eclectic, with repurposed furniture for the kitchen cabinets, fun custom tile in the bathroom, original windows, solid panel doors, wood floors, and all the vintage charm that old home lovers will appreciate. But in many respects, it’s not old at all! The electric was updated just this year. The plumbing is all new PEX with a new septic field. The well pump was recently replaced, and the metal roof is only about 8-10 years old.

Start your own sustainable mini-farm! 4.87 acres of woods and lush pasture offer the opportunity to raise chickens, goats, or livestock with a barn to house them in. The abundance of sunlight will feed your gardens and orchards. Hiking and horse trails through the woods will feed your soul. Enjoy some fishing on Newfound Creek, which runs through the property. Over the years, this land has hosted many acoustic music festivals. Bring your imagination and find out what memories you can create!

Located only 21 minutes to downtown Asheville, 8 minutes to I-40, and 12 minutes to the nearest Ingles Grocery. This wonderful farm is waiting for you!

About Susan

My husband and I have made our home in the peaceful mountains of Western North Carolina since 1992 where we worked together in the running of our home remodeling business. Together we have built 4 homes and renovated another as well as renovated countless homes for clients. I have always taken an active part in the design and building of these homes. From hanging ridge rafters to laying hardwood floors, I have gained a great deal of respect and understanding of what goes into a well-built home. This love of homes and home construction is what led me to become a Real Estate Broker in 2003 and later a General Contractor. I am also active in canine sports, competing with my golden retrievers and organizing obedience trials as well as serving time on the board (past treasurer) of the Sandlapper Golden Retriever Club.  In addition, I am a stained glass artist and I take much pride and satisfaction in designing and creating glass art that I often donated to benefit rescues and canine health research.

Since starting my Real Estate Career long ago, I have won many sales awards and more importantly to me, several Quality Service Awards. For several years I was Broker in Charge of a small office, managing 9 other agents. Feeling the need to get back to what I love about real estate, I stepped down as the managing broker in 2017 so I could concentrate on
my clients and their needs as a Broker Associate. I am now working with Sterling Real Estate Partners because of their creativity, marketing technology, customer service and their stellar reputation in the Asheville and surrounding markets.

I specialize in Residential Homes, Small Farms and Land Tracks with a special passion for Vintage Homes. When marketing a Vintage home, or helping a buyer with a purchase of one, you can expect a full essay on the "genealogy" of your home. One of my many obsessions is tracking the history of Asheville's older homes. My years working as a carpenters assistant as well as my beginnings in the marketing field will be used to your benefit when you are selling or buying a home. Of course for dog owners, my 20+ years of training and competing with my own dogs has given me an understanding that often a fenced yard for Puppy is not enough. Sometimes we need a bit more. For both sellers and buyers I recognize the unique needs that many of us
have for ourselves and with our homes.
